Incitement Manifesto for event organisers

Incitement is organised around the globe, currently in around 40 countries. To ensure the best possible experience for your event attendees and create the biggest impact possible, it’s necessary to establish a set of rules, a status quo if you will; this is the Incitement manifesto.

The Incitement manifesto is a set of rules for organising Incitement events. These rules are mandatory and non-negotiable for all event organisers. Because we are all responsible to make sure that Incitement vision is being cultivated throughout.

General

Carrying out the Incitement brand personality

The guidelines outlined on this website are an integral part of Incitement’s global brand personality. Organising an Incitement event means you commit to applying all the guidelines as listed on this page.

Vision & Mission

Incitement’s mission is to inspire local communities through powerful events, and to activate local communities to spread positivity & create social impact through The Incitement Platform..

Purpose of the event

You must adhere to the 3 pillars of Incitement: fun, contribution, and growth. Every event should be focused on providing inspiration and motivation, and encourage attendees to take action towards creating positive impact for themselves, and society in general. Incitement events are not driven by any other agenda than what is listed on this page.

The Incitement Platform

The Incitement Platform is Incitement’s way to facilitate tangible, positive impact in the world. As an organiser of an Incitement event, it is your responsibility to guide your event attendees towards signing up on www.theincitement.com and support them in creating this positive impact.

Fundraising/ crowdfunding

You are allowed to raise funds for your event via the Incitement platform only. You cannot use any other fundraising/crowdfunding websites, such as Kickstarter.com, or IndieGoGo. All money raised from your event’s campaign must directly go back into organising your respective event.

Profitability

If you are a 1st Degree License Holder, under no circumstances can you use an Incitement event to generate a profit, nor can you use an Incitement event to raise funds for charities, or any other organisation that is not listed and approved in the Incitement platform.

The Licensee has to be the lead organiser for the Incitement event(s). In the application form for organising Incitement, the applicant has to state a name of an assistant who will be assisting the applicant in organising the event.

If the organiser has a license to organise regular events but wishes to stop, their assistant cannot takeover the organisation of these events. The assistant can however apply for a special license to become a regular organiser of the Incitement event in that particular area. To be eligible to apply for that special license, you must prove that you have assisted in organising Incitement events more than 4 times. All press releases about any Incitement event must be approved by The Incitement. You should route any press release through for approval via info@theincitement.com.

Interviews

If you are interviewed for broadcast TV or (online) radio, clearly state that your event is an independently organised Incitement event and explain what that means. You should represent yourself as a participating Incitement organiser.

Media invitations

You should keep your media invitation to a minimum. Invite media personnel who you know would be in line with The Incitement’s vision and goals of spreading positivity.

Do not invite any media party who’s newspaper, magazine or channel have an affiliation with any political and/or religious agenda.

Photography & video

Members of the press are not allowed to take any pictures of your Incitement event or record any videos if they attend your Incitement event. Instead you should find an in-house photographer and select some of the photographs taken by the in-house photographer during your event to share with the press.

Onsite media section

Should you have plans to have media cover your event, then create a media section on your website. You should direct all media enquiries to one dedicated person. A link to the Media page should be placed in the main navigation of the website.

Requirements for your onsite media section

If you include a media section on your website this is what is must mention:

“All media requests should be sent to [Name]. [Name] is the official spokesperson for Incitement(EventName).

Please note that Incitement organisers are not able to speak on behalf of or for The Incitement.

We kindly ask you to be aware of the difference between The Incitement and Incitement events. Incitement events are self-organised events under The Incitement’s licensing program.

Any headline or text that implies The Incitement is coming to [location] is misleading.

For any inquiries regarding The Incitement should be sent to info@theincitement.com.”
